When I met Michelle and Jacques they were undergoing a radical life change: they had decided to leave Toulouse, the capital of Languedoc, known as the Pink City because of the terracotta bricks used in many of its buildings, to move to Mèze, a little port on the Mediterranean that lives off tourism and oyster farming.
They went from the fast pace of a large city to the slowness of port village life, and from Atlantic influences to the warm, temperate climate of the south coast.

Michelle and Jacques contacted me because they wanted to reflect this change of atmosphere inside their new home, which at the time was dominated by shades of grey.
They had always furnished their spaces independently and tastefully, and just wanted some original inspiration. Retouche was the formula I suggested.

Right from the start I wanted to focus the consultancy on the relationship between their home and its surroundings, which often leads me to the essence of a home, its identity, and how it really fits in.
This is why I helped Michelle and Jacques choose the colours and textures that they would find in nature.

The choice of furniture and lighting also embodied bringing the colours, textures, volumes and light of the natural surroundings into the home. Finally, I left them with some suggestions that took into account practical constraints, so that they had a clear direction for the layout of furniture and objects.

My advice also cheered them up: it was just the approach they were looking for, to bring a touch of character to their new home that reflected the change they were undergoing.
